Discover UNSECO primeval forests and a charm of dark sky

Poloniny National Park is formed by mountain meadows over the forest level and virgin fir-beech UNESCO primeval forests. We will experience hiking in one of the last wilderness in Europe, evening bonfire and overnight at one of the places with the darkest sky in Europe.

We will visit wooden churches, and historical village Zemplínske Hámre.

Itinerary

What you can experience

Day 1

We will visit wooden churches (cerkva) in Poloniny region. From the village Runina, we will move to a campground. We will sleep at a place with the darkest sky in Slovakia, and if the weather conditons will be good, watch the stars.

Day 2

Hiking to a borderline point Kremenec, (the point of 3 borders- Slovakia, Poland and Ukraine). The trail leads through Karpathian primeval forest Stužica (UNESCO).

Day 3

We will visit the village Zemplínske Hámre, from where we will start a hike to Morské oko lake in Vihorlat and Sninský kameň. There is also a possibility to swim at organic swimming pool Sninské rybníky.
