Slovakia in one breath

Cultural and natural highlights of Slovakia

During 7 days we will visit small towns with fascinating history. We will start in „Silver Town“ Banská Štiavnica, equipped with a helmet and lamp we will explore its mines. In Liptov region, we will see and taste traditional life in folk village, or sheep shed. We will discover the nature treasures in wild forest and cave. We will see the beauty of Pieniny from the wooden boat, enter the castles and wooden churches.

Hiking

We will do a moderate hike and visit the most beautiful Tatra valleys.

Majestic view to ,,Silver town", peak Kriváň, untouched forests, or canyon of the river in Pieniny.

Itinerary

What you can experience

Day 1

Meeting at the airport (Wien) arrival to Banská Štiavnica UNESCO historic mining city.

Day 2

City tour in Banská Štiavnica “Silver town”, entry to the underground mines, evening bath in Sklené Teplice Spa.

Day 3

In the morning we will move to Liptov region and visit second UNESCO monument Vlkolínec, open-air folk museum. In the afternoon we will have exhibition of Demänovská cave of liberty.

Day 4

Hiking in Tichá and Kôprová valley, heart of Carpathian wilderness. We will see the largest waterfall in Tatras, discover a forest left for self-restoration where we will learn something about the local ecosystem. In the afternoon we will taste traditional meals at sheep shed.

Day 5

We will move to region Spiš with plenty of well preserved monuments from Middle Ages. We will visit town Levoča with highest Late Gothic wooden main altar in the world and Spiš castle-largest castle complex in Central Europe (UNESCO).

Day 6

Rafting in the smallest national park in Slovakia-Pieniny. The local raftsmen will tell us legends from the time when their ancestors were sailing far to Baltic see. We will visit also museum Červený Kláštor, the former monastery of Kartusian and Kamaldul monks.

Day 7

We will visit medievel Ľubovňa castle, strategic meeting place of Hungarian and Polish kings. In the afternoon, we will have a city tour in Bardejov, the most gothic town in Slovakia (UNESCO).

Day 8

We will finish our trip by visiting wooden churches (,,cerkvi") of the Slovak part of the Carpathian Area.
